Use the panels themselves as the foundation and put something on the panels themselves something thin enough to avoid conflict with the counter/ drawer.

I would begin thinking of ways to alter the appearance of the panels without constructing/finding something to cover them. Painting seems like the easiest way to reduce the visual impact, but doesn't make the panels look less like what they are, and that I gather is the mission. I would say the solution is difficult because of the panel proximity to the counter/drawer. These are just ideas I had I don't know anything about plumbing, but I know that I don't want the water supply line in the floor, so I'm hoping someone with more knowledge than me can help me out. Or can the supply line go behind the Vespin? (An Amazon reviewer said there needs to be "7 or more inches between the back of the bowl and the fresh water line," but I'm having trouble visualizing what this means.) Or is there a toilet out there that would cover/disguise the floor supply line? In my mind, I'm imagining snaking the supply line right through, between guts and skirt, but I have no idea if this is a plumbing possibility.) Or could the water supply pipe/hose somehow be hidden by the Vespin's skirt? (I don't know how much space there is between the skirt and "guts" of the toilet, or if putting the supply line between the guts and skirt would even be feasible. Could we drill through such a beam and put the water supply line through it so that the water supply can still feed out of the wall? I'm not sure if my contractor is being completely forthright, or if it would just be a hassle to move the supply line and so he gave the beam as a reason for not moving it. My contractor said the supply line for this toilet can't be moved to the wall because there's a "beam under the wall." I assume what he means is that there's a basement ceiling support beam under that wall (the basement stairs are on the other side of the wall where the toilet is being placed), although, to be honest, I don't entirely understand what beam is in the way. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you have! Do any of you with more know-how than me have any remedies? Is there any way to hide the water supply with the Vespin's skirt? Could we drill through that beam and put the water supply through it? Is there any other remedy? Another toilet? One of the toilet's supply lines can be moved to the wall my contractor says the other can't because there's a beam under the wall behind where the toilet will go. I don't want extra stuff on the floor to clean around. I looked up pictures, and I do not like the way the floor supply lines look, and having this would also defeat the purpose of having a skirted toilet.

I do not want the water supply lines sticking up out of the floor. I know nothing about these things, and I assumed he'd move them to the wall or hide them under the toilet (you're probably laughing, but this is my level of knowledge I'm still learning!). My husband and I renovated our new house, and our contractor put our toilet water supply lines in the floor. (I was also considering the Toto Drake and Kohler Corbelle.) Hi! Some of you kind folks gave me advice regarding what toilet to get a while back, and I settled on the Toto Vespin.
